fiddle repertoire

All Cortland Music groups can play a few Celtic tunes, but if you want mostly or all Celtic, this is the group for you. The Cortland Duo: Gina Burgess on fiddle, and Rachel Matthews accompanying on cello. A few notes about our fiddle style: Celtic is a general term that covers Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, Gaelic, etc. So yes we do play Celtic music, but if you want to get specific, the fiddle style we play is Cape Breton, Nova Scotian, and Scottish (Nova Scotia = New Scotland). If you specifically want all New Brunswick “Down Home”, Newfoundland, or Irish fiddle music, I know some fiddlers I can refer you to. Here’s a list of tunes we normally have in our folders, ready to go! We have much more on file. Please ask if your favorite piece of music is available, or if you would like to make a special request.
